Parts and upgrades:
- Consider a new seat. This is the first thing many people change on a bike. The shape of the seat is the most important factor, not the padding. Aim for support over softness. Consider a gel saddle if you don't ride your bike very often. Gel saddles will take the edge off a harsh ride. Get a wide seat only if you cycle in an upright riding position, usually on a cruiser or a three-speed. Buy a women's seat if you're female. Women's seats are wider and shorter to accommodate women's physiological needs.
- Consider new tires. Consider a front-specific or rear-specific tire for a mountain bike if you ride off road. A tire that works well in one region's terrain may not work well in another. Consider a slick tire or a tire with an inverted tread for a mountain bike if you rarely go off road. These tires won't buzz on the pavement and will improve your cycling efficiency dramatically. Consider kevlar-belted tires if you get lots of flats. You might also consider special tubes.
- Consider ways to make your bike lighter. A lighter bike means more speed and efficiency. If you are a mountain biker, it will also make your climbs easier.
We have many other parts and upgrades available to fit your wildest bike creation. Just let one of our technicians know what you want and we'll take care of it! We also have hundreds of bicycle accessories and parts.
